Partnership Brings Powerful Identity Verification Capabilities to Fixmo SafeZone Secure Container Solution for iOS and Android
Sterling, Va. and San Francisco, Calif. – October 22, 2012 – Fixmo, the mobile risk management (MRM) company, today announced it has partnered with NetAuthority, a provider of strong device-centric authentication and transaction verification solutions, to bring advanced access control and identity verification capabilities to its Fixmo SafeZone secure workspace. The solutions provide a defense-grade secure environment on mobile devices for storing and accessing corporate data, now coupled with the world’s most advanced user and device authentication technology for securing access to mobile applications in the enterprise.
Fixmo SafeZone is a secure container environment for iOS and Android devices that keeps all corporate data – including email, browsing, documents and custom apps – encrypted, password-protected and under IT control. Through the partnership, Fixmo SafeZone customers will be able to utilize NetAuthority’s patented dynamic key-generation and authentication technology to add additional layers of access control, ensuring only authorized devices are accessing their corporate network and applications through Fixmo SafeZone.
NetAuthority’s capabilities enhance Fixmo SafeZone by adding powerful, patented device identity and authentication capabilities that irrefutably prove the identity of a device. With this technology in place, devices, in addition to the users themselves, must prove their identity before accessing corporate applications and data within Fixmo SafeZone or on the corporate intranet. With the integrated solution, the device will be required to authenticate itself using a device key generated by NetAuthority that cannot be spoofed and can irrefutably identify and authenticate the device based on key characteristics, all of which is transparent to the user and does not require any manual interaction. The system can prevent security breaches as well as man-in-the-middle and man-in-the-browser attacks in which a rogue device can intercept critical information between authenticated users.
Through the partnership, Fixmo and its channel partners will offer NetAuthority’s solution as an optional plug-in to their existing Fixmo SafeZone environment.
“Fixmo is committed to enabling trusted and compliant mobile computing in the workplace and helping organizations in the public and private sector exercise the full utility of the latest mobile devices without compromising security or regulatory compliance,” said Dan Ford, Chief Security Officer with Fixmo. “With NetAuthority’s patented device authentication—and its ability to ensure identity verification—we are building on our existing defense-grade security model to mitigate another critical risk related to mobile devices in the workplace: to ensure that only authorized and verified devices can access and store critical company data.”
“The proliferation of mobile devices in the workplace—whether they are owned by the company or the employee—has brought with it tremendous benefits, along with significant risks,” said Chris Brennan, CEO with NetAuthority. “We are pleased to partner with Fixmo to help ameliorate these critical risks, to ensure that only authorized users and devices have access to sensitive information.”
Fixmo and NetAuthority will be demonstrating their mobile security and compliance solutions at the Gartner Symposium ITxpo in Orlando, FL from October 21 – 25 at booth 839.
